Fundraising Plan
Goal: $40,000 by January 30, 2026
Background:
Stacy is no longer working and as a result she will be tapping into her savings for living and medical expenses. The goal of this fundraiser is to extend the reach of her savings by covering the medical insurance payments and expenses. While there are many financial scenarios, for planning purposes we are funding the worst-case scenario for medical expenses in 2026 of $40,000. It is likely that actual expenses will be lower, in which case, this fundraiser will help to cover 2027 medical expenses. We feel that it is better to be conservative now and avoid needing a second fundraiser mid-year.
Financial Controls:
Stacy has asked that donations be collected centrally and passed along in one deposit. To enable this, Lynn Schaber, who has financial power of attorney, will collect the money. Financial oversight and controls will be handled by Steve Horn, a bonded financial advisor. If there are any questions or concerns, Steve can be reached at stevehorn@fuse.net.
Contributions:
100% of all money donated will go directly to Stacy. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is valuable and will make a meaningful difference in Stacy’s journey toward recovery. The preferred method is Zelle, however you can use Zelle, Apple Cash, Venmo, and in rare instances, credit card. Checks, made out to Lynn Schaber with “Stacy Neurohr” in the memo line, are also very welcome – please contact Lynn at LynnSchaber@GMail.com to arrange pick up. Anyone who donates $1,000 or more will receive an entry to win a bottle of Blanton’s Gold Bourbon.
Tax implications:
Donations are considered a personal gift and therefore not tax deductible. If you need additional information on this, please contact Lynn who did the research (LynnSchaber@GMail.com). The maximum “free” personal gift is $19,000/person/year – after this, donations are taxable.
